The Werombee Hive – Farm Stay Policy
Welcome to The Werombee Hive — we’re so glad you’re here. We want your time on the farm to be safe, comfortable, and filled with good memories.
As a working farm, there are a few things to keep in mind to help ensure everyone (including our animals) stays happy and safe.
1. Farm Environment
We are a working farm, which means:
You may see (and hear) animals, tractors, and farm equipment during your stay.
Expect uneven terrain, open paddocks, and rustic surroundings.
We encourage exploration, but ask that you take care around animals, fences, and buildings.
Please supervise children at all times while on the property — especially near animals, dams, fences, and equipment.
2. Animals on the Farm
Guests are welcome to meet and interact with our animals, but please do not feed them unless invited to do so by a host.
Some animals roam freely — they’re part of the experience! Please treat them gently and respectfully.
Our animals are generally friendly, but as with any animals, they may react unpredictably, especially if startled or approached too quickly.
3. Property Access
Guests are free to explore designated areas of the farm and gardens. Please respect private areas, sheds, and equipment zones marked as staff-only.
Gates must be left as you find them — if a gate is closed, please close it behind you. This is essential for animal safety.
4. Fires & Smoking
Due to the rural location and bushfire risk, open fires are only permitted in designated fire pits and in accordance with current fire restrictions.
Smoking is not permitted inside any buildings or near dry vegetation.
5. Pets
Due to our livestock and resident animals, no pets are permitted on the property. Thank you for understanding.
6. Waste & Sustainability
We aim to tread lightly — please use the provided bins and composting systems.
Do not litter or leave food scraps outside, as this can attract unwanted wildlife.
7. Noise & Respect
We ask all guests to respect the peace of the farm and our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum, especially after 9pm.
This is a space for rest and reconnection — we welcome laughter and good times, just keep it neighbourly.
8. Liability
Guests enter the property at their own risk. While we do everything we can to maintain a safe environment, The Werombee Hive accepts no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage incurred during your stay.
It’s a good idea to have travel insurance, particularly if you’re travelling from interstate or overseas.
9. Cancellations & Refunds
All bookings are non-refundable, unless otherwise arranged at time of booking. If you need to change dates, please get in touch as early as possible and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
10. Emergencies
In the event of an emergency, please contact us directly. Emergency contact numbers and directions to the nearest hospital will be provided upon arrival.
Thank You
By booking a stay at The Werombee Hive, you agree to these policies and acknowledge that you’re visiting a working farm with all its charm, character, and unpredictability.
We can’t wait to welcome you.
